Tips Tracking – Overview & Setup
The Tips Tracking feature in the Time Clock App helps wineries track and distribute tips accurately based on your business model. Whether you operate on individual tips, pooled tips, or fixed allocation by role, the system makes it easy to automate calculations and prepare payroll exports—all from within Commerce7.
How It Works

Open the Time Clock Admin Panel
Go to Store > Time Clock Admin Panel. -
Go to Tip Settings
Click Settings > Tips. -
Enable Tips Tracking
Toggle the Enable Tips switch.Enabling this setting will calculate tips for each employee and add a Tips column to the timesheet export CSV file.

Choose a Tip Calculation Mode

Individual Tips
Each employee receives the tip amount they personally earned during their shift. -
Shared / Pooled Tips
Tips are equally split among employees who clocked in and out during the day.You can exclude specific employees by checking “Exclude from shared tip calculation” on their Employee Details page.

Fixed Allocation
Tips are divided based on percentages assigned to Schedule Categories (e.g., Servers 70%, Bussers 30%).Employees can also be excluded using the “Exclude from shared tip calculation” setting.

Save Settings
Click Save after selecting your tip mode.Tips are calculated at the time of export, ensuring accurate totals based on final time entries.
Admin Controls
From the Tips settings tab, Admins can:

Enable or disable tip tracking

Select the appropriate calculation mode

Exclude employees from participation

Export tip-inclusive timesheets for payroll

FAQs
Q: Can employees see their calculated tips?
A: No. Employees do not see tips inside the app—they will see them when they get paid.
Q: Can I change tip modes after setup?
A: Yes. If you change the calculation mode, past shifts will be recalculated using the new method the next time you export timesheets.
