Commission Calculation – Overview & Setup
The Commission Calculation feature allows wineries to reward staff based on sales made during their shifts. By automatically linking Commerce7 sales data to employee clock-ins, the Time Clock App can calculate commissions in seconds and include them in your timesheet exports.
How It Works

Open the Time Clock Admin Panel
Go to Store > Time Clock Admin Panel. -
Go to Commission Settings
Click Settings > Commissions. -
Enable Commission Tracking
Toggle the Enable Commissions switch.Enabling this will add a Commission column to your timesheet export and allow you to define rules based on SKUs and Wine Clubs.

Set Commission Rates per SKU
Assign a commission percentage (e.g., 5%) for specific products.Ideal for promoting specific bottles, bundles, or limited releases.

Set Commission Amounts per Wine Club
Define a flat-dollar commission (e.g., $10) for each Wine Club signup.You can choose to award commissions either:

At the time of signup, or

When the first shipment is processed

Save Settings
Click Save to apply your rules. Commissions will be calculated at export time.
How Commissions Are Calculated

Matches employee clock-in/out times with POS transactions

Applies SKU-based commission percentages and Wine Club bonuses

Adds a Commission column in the timesheet export CSV
Admin Controls
From the Commissions settings tab, Admins can:

Enable/disable commission tracking

Set and update SKU and Wine Club rules

Choose when Wine Club commissions are awarded

Export timesheets with total commission amounts per employee

Use SKU rules for high-margin or slow-moving wines

Award Wine Club commissions based on business goals (signup vs. first shipment)

FAQs
Q: Are commissions based on POS or Admin sales?
A: Commissions apply to POS transactions only during an employee’s clocked-in shift. Admin sales are not included.
Q: Can I assign different commission rates to roles or employees?
A: Not currently. Commission rules apply globally. To request this feature, visit feedback.vc.wine/time-clock.
Q: Will commissions recalculate if I change a rule or rate?
A: Yes. Commissions are calculated at export time, so changes apply retroactively.
